John the Baptist Parish, Bonnyrigg Heights Social Group
A review by Valerie:
On Thursday 26 February 43 parishioners from John the Baptist Parish, Bonnyrigg Heights were privileged to visit the Centre. We were enthusiastically greeted by the staff and made to feel very welcome. We were able to spend time in the Centre, viewing historical items and a video of the life and work of Eileen and Our Lady’s Nurses of the Poor.
We also spent time in the chapel, where Sister Kerry Macdermott OLN very generously gave of her time to provide us with more information and stories about Eileen, obstacles encountered and the current ministry which continues today.
We spent one hour there and could have stayed longer as there was so much to see and hear. It was a very spiritual and uplifting experience. The Centre is a place of a quiet and reflection on Eileen’s life and legacy which certainly left us in a more enlightened frame of mind and so much better for having visited. Our group are extremely grateful for the warm welcome, enthusiasm and knowledge Sr Kerry and the staff were able to impart.
