Eileen’s Remembrance Album

The above excerpt is from Eileen’s ‘Remembrance Album’, a scrap book created by Eileen and shared with Nurse Theresa ‘Cissie’ McLaughlin’, the first member of Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor. 

The album provides a valuable insight into Eileen’s personal spirituality, containing hand written prayers and reflections.  It also reveals her deep appreciation for beauty and creativity, with carefully composed scenes depicting Our Lord, Our Lady and the Saints amongst floral and planted scenes. 

Eileen’s deep devotion to Our Lady and Lord is central to the charism of Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor.  Mary is the model and guide to Eileen and the Nurses, who are reminded with the motto of the Society, “To Jesus through Mary”.
