Learning, reflection and community
Teachers from Villa Maria Catholic Primary School Hunters Hill were welcomed to Our Lady’s Home on Friday morning, 19 September 2025.
The visit, organised with the help of Sydney Catholic Schools, brought together 25 teachers for a day of learning, reflection and community-building. Our Lady’s Home was the start of their day where they listened to a talk on the Eileen O’Connor, Fr Edward McGrath and the work of Our Lady’s Nurses, followed by prayers and time in the Centre looking at historical and religious exhibits. Sr Kerry Macdermott oln, joined them to share her stories about her sixty-one (61) years doing ‘the work’. Sr Kerry’s main focus in all her work is love and kindness to all.
Our Lady’s Nurses know that teachers help shape the next generation, and are honoured to be part of their mission, especially in Catholic schools where history and tradition play such an important role.
