Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor were delighted to welcome the Sisters of Mary Morning Star to the Eileen O’Connor Centre and Our Lady’s Home Chapel. The Sisters spent time in prayerful silence at the tomb of Eileen O’Connor Servant of God in our Chapel before walking across to our Centre to learn about Eileen’s life, Fr Edward McGrath and the work of Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor.
The Sisters who are non cloistered contemplatives, were visiting Sydney, from Mitchelton Brisbane, where they are based.
“ In this present period we wish to turn in a special way to the one who in the “night” began to shine like a true “morning star”. For just as this star, together with the “dawn”, precedes the rising of the sun, so Mary from the time of her Immaculate Conception preceded the coming of the Saviour.”
— St John Paul II, Redemptoris Mater
