9 May 1939. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the annual card party to raise funds for Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor was held the previous day at the Trocadero in George St, Sydney. Its organisers included Miss J. Mungovan, Mrs R.P. Qua, Miss B. Lyons, Miss E. Boyer, Miss S. Carrol, H. Sicard, C. McCarthy, R. Hogan, G. Lawler, F. Sisson, C. Smith, K. Loneragan and J. McKean. A musical program was provided by Mr Reg McLaughlin. These playing cards belonged to Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor co-founder, Eileen O’Connor.
